What if the slow times are the reward for the busy times? In business, we usually look forward to the busy times, the times when we are grinding, getting stuff done, serving customers, and cash flow is abundant. Those are the good times.
When the natural cycle of business turns the other way, and it’s slower, not as many customers to serve, revenues are down, these are the times that are generally more stressful, and we try to avoid.
But, what if we viewed these slower times as what they really are? The reward for the busy times. The times when we can take a step back, relax, reflect, and refocus and plan for those times when we get busy again. Take advantage of those natural cycles.
Farmers know this well. Every year, after harvest. They spend the winter preparing for the coming spring. Machinery is checked and repaired. Supplies are purchased. Plans are made for the following growing season.
Everything has its natural cycles. Know what they are, take advantage of them. You will be more prosperous if you do. “Know the importance of the season you’re in and a wise son you will be.” – Solomon
