This past weekend I had the privilege of meeting people that are visiting Canada for the first time; one from Australia, and another couple from Nebraska.
They have come here to experience our country, and our people. It’s something that we often take for granted. Living here we sometimes focus on our blemishes, and what’s not right rather than what is right. We live in a place that people come to visit from all over the world. When we take a moment and see Canada through their eyes, as first time visitors. What do we see?
We see clear blue skies. Majestic mountains. Crystal clear water. Vast farmlands. Small towns. Big cities. Pickup trucks. RVs. People that have come from all over the world. People that welcome others from all over the world. We experience hospitality. A friendly people. People that look out for their neighbors. Diversity of cultures. Community. We love hockey. Coffee. We endure cold winters, and hot summers. We live in peace. We prosper as a nation. We are a land of opportunity.
We have so much to be grateful for. So on this Canada Day, take a moment to pause and see what a first time visitor sees when they come here. You’ll be amazed once again.
